Can we talk about dropping $150 on a fancy pair of shears?
I spent $150 on a high-end pair of shears everyone raves about, thinking they'd cut my time in half. But after three days of use, they feel no different than my old $40 pair from the beauty supply store. Has anyone else found that price doesn't always mean better performance in this trade?

...and honestly that's kinda how I felt after spending a hundred bucks on a blow dryer that was supposed to "change my life." My old drugstore one actually dried my hair faster because it's lighter and doesn't strain my wrist. Did you give the fancy shears a full week to break in, or did you go back to your trusty old pair pretty quick?

So you had a friend who went through the same thing? My buddy Dave spent like eighty bucks on these fancy Japanese shears for cutting his own hair during lockdown. He swore they'd be a game changer. First cut he ended up with this weird lopsided thing on the left side of his head, went right back to his old ten dollar pair from the drugstore the next week. Said the expensive ones felt too tight in his hand, made his fingers cramp up after two snips. He still keeps em in a drawer though, probably for show.
