Watching a color correction demo at a Vegas trade show changed my whole mixing game

I was at the big beauty show in Vegas about three years ago, just watching this artist fix a client's brassy blonde melt. She didn't just slap on a toner, she explained her exact formula and why she picked each level. I used to just guess a lot, but now I always write down my formulas for every single client. Has anyone else started keeping a detailed color log after seeing something simple that clicked?

Honestly, that demo would've changed my approach too.

Why do I always learn the hard way?

Read somewhere that our brains are wired to remember painful mistakes more than easy wins. It's like a built-in survival thing that makes the lesson stick. Just makes the whole process kind of rough.
