Vent: That time I got stuck at a job site in Wichita for 9 hours waiting on the wrong load
Last Thursday my dispatcher swore the steel beam was already on the truck, but after I'd already rigged up and climbed the cab, a flatbed rolled in with a 40-foot I-beam for a job 20 miles away, and I just sat there watching the sun move while the real crew sorted out their paperwork, so has anyone else had a load mix-up that cost you more than the paycheck was worth?

Man, sitting there for 9 hours watching the sun crawl across the sky would've broken me. Used to be I'd just say that's part of the gig and eat the loss, you know, chalk it up to the job being the job. But a mix-up like that isn't on you at all, that's dispatch dropping the ball, and losing a whole day of pay over their mistake is straight up wrong. After enough of these I stopped just shrugging it off and started asking who's covering my time when the load ain't even there. Sounds like that flatbed crew had their own mess going on too, but none of that should come out of your check.
