Took me 4 hours to figure out my villain's name and it was hiding in a grocery list
I got stuck on a short story prompt about a retired thief and burned a whole Saturday afternoon just trying to name the guy, because every name I tried felt like a costume. Turned out the right one was already written on my fridge whiteboard from a grocery run 3 days earlier, and I only noticed it while grabbing a snack. How do you all name characters, do you keep a running list somewhere or just steal from real life?
