The password manager I avoided for 2 years finally got me in Cincinnati
I work front desk at a small dental office here. We had sticky notes under keyboards for every login, including the admin panel for the x-ray software. Nobody wanted to deal with a password manager because the old office manager said it would slow us down. After she quit, I spent a weekend setting up Bitwarden for the 4 of us. Took maybe 3 hours total. Now when someone leaves, I just revoke their access instead of changing 15 passwords at 2 AM after a breach scare. The dental software vendor still makes us use a shared account for one thing, but at least that one is now a 20 character random string nobody has to memorize. Has anyone else gotten a small office to actually stick with a password manager past the first month?
That line about sticky notes under keyboards for every login is painfully real. The trick to making it stick past month one is not giving people a choice, just reset the shared password and put the only copy in the vault. People gripe for a week, then they stop caring because it works.
