PSA: I caught 3 phishing emails last month just by hovering over the link before clicking
Honestly I used to just click links in emails without thinking twice, and I almost got burned 2 months ago when a fake FedEx delivery notice landed in my inbox. The link said fedex-delivery.com but when I hovered it actually pointed to some random IP address in a totally different country. That one save made me start checking every link before I touch it, and last month alone I flagged 3 more at work that my coworkers had already clicked on. Ngl it takes like 2 extra seconds and it has already saved me from typing my password into a fake login page. The IT guy at my office said 91 percent of breaches start with a phishing email, which seems wild until you see how good these fakes look now. Has anyone else built this hover habit, or do you use a different trick to spot the fakes?
