Pro tip: I shot every dead mall with a flash for 2 years before a guard in Dayton asked why I was lighting up a busted Sears like a crime scene
Turns out ambient light is the entire point, the flash was killing the dark hallways that make these places feel dead. Anybody else shoot with no flash and just brace against a column?

Ha! Bracing on a column beats a flash any day, but have you tried a tiny flashlight aimed up?
