PSA: I thought getting a variance for a dumpster enclosure at my Cap Hill building would take 2 weeks, it took 4 months
Started the paperwork back in March for a 6 foot masonry wall around the trash area at a 12 unit building on Clarkson St, figured it was a simple zoning sign off. Turns out the landmark district review alone took 9 weeks, and then the city came back asking for a survey I already sent them in April. If you own anything near a historic district, budget a full quarter for even small exterior changes. Has anyone had luck using a pre approved wall design to skip part of that review?
