Arizona inspection station made me eat crow about my fuel filters

Was down in Tucson for a job last month and stopped at a random inspection shop because my 7.3 was stumbling. Guy there, old school, took one look at my fuel pressure gauge and said 'your filters are 20k past due, the paper is collapsing.' I argued with him for 10 minutes, told him they were fine. He showed me the pressure drop on his snap-on scanner, 28 psi at idle, should be over 40. Replaced both filters right there, ran like a new truck. Now I change mine every 15k no matter what the dash says. Has anyone else had a shop call them out on maintenance they swore was good?
