Found out a Peterbilt 379 coolant filter costs $80 because of a 20 cent o-ring nobody stocks
Had a truck in for a coolant leak and the dealer quoted me $80 for the filter housing assembly, but the o-ring inside it is the only thing that fails and no parts house in town keeps it. I ordered a bag of 50 o-rings off the internet for $12 and now I have a lifetime supply for a truck that takes one every 20,000 miles. What small part have you all started buying in bulk just because the parts store never has it?
Figured out I'm basically running a mini warehouse of random o-rings and crush washers in my glovebox now. At this rate my truck parts stash is worth more than the truck itself.
