I went with a Bosch CP4 over a CP3 on my Duramax rebuild
Everyone told me the CP4 was a ticking time bomb for fuel system failure, but I found a good deal on a used one with low miles from a wrecked 2020 truck in Phoenix. 3 months and 8,000 miles later it's been running smooth with no issues, though I did add a secondary fuel filter kit just in case. Has anyone else had a CP4 last long term or am I just lucky so far?

Isn't it funny how "everyone says X" is usually just a couple loud voices? Like the people who swear you gotta change your oil every 3,000 miles or your engine explodes. Sometimes the internet just picks a villain and runs with it.

Same here. I grabbed a used CP4 off a low-mileage wreck for my 2019 and figured I'd roll the dice. Been about 10,000 miles now and zero issues, also running a secondary filter. Maybe we both got lucky, but mine's been solid as a rock so far.

Question is if the internet is blowing this whole CP4 thing way out of proportion lol.
