My diesel's rough idle was cured by a quick MAP sensor cleaning
I was ready to pull the injectors but a five-minute clean of the MAP sensor smoothed everything out, so always check the simple stuff first.

Actually, it's usually the MAF sensor on diesels, not MAP, but same fix works.

Honestly it's WILD how often the small fixes work. My old truck had the same shaky idle last winter and I was looking at a huge bill. Spent twenty minutes with some cleaner on the MAP and EGR valve and it purred like a kitten. Felt like a genius for avoiding the shop. Those sensors get filthy and trick the whole system.
