Shoutout to the old timer in Bakersfield who swore by re-torquing head bolts after 500 miles
I figured it was just old school voodoo until I tried it on a 7.3 Powerstroke that kept weeping coolant. Pulled the valve cover at 500 miles and every bolt needed another 15 ft-lbs, never leaked again. Anybody else here still doing a re-torque or do you trust the gasket makers' spec now?
