Appreciation post: My kid said my art looked like a video game
I was showing my 8 year old a new fantasy landscape I made, and she said it looked like the background from her favorite game. I always tried to make my stuff look 'real' but her comment made me see the strong, simple shapes and colors I used as a good thing. Do you ever get feedback that makes you see your own style in a new way?

Wait, your kid is eight and already has a favorite video game with art good enough to compare to your work? That's the part that got me. Kids see stuff so clearly sometimes, it cuts right through all the overthinking. That's a huge compliment, honestly.
