Back in 2015, I had to pick between a Wacom Cintiq or a regular tablet for my first big project.

The client wanted a full comic book cover, and I only had a $800 budget for gear. I went with the regular tablet to save cash, thinking I could make it work. It took me almost twice as long to finish because the hand-eye disconnect was a real pain. Anyone else start on basic gear and feel like it held you back at first?

hand-eye disconnect" never slowed me down, honestly.

Guess it just hits people differently. Took me ages to get past it.

Honestly, that disconnect is a real skill barrier. It adds a whole extra step your brain has to process, which just eats up time. Some folks adapt fast, but for many it's a genuine roadblock.
