Shoutout to the days of printing art for friends vs. online galleries now
I used to print out my digital paintings and hand them to people at school to get any feedback. Last night, I posted a new character design on a showcase site and it got picked up by a curator in hours. Having real talks with other artists right away is so different from the old silence. This tiny win makes all the practice feel worth it.

Wait, a curator found it in just hours? That's wild to me. Back when you had to print stuff, you'd be lucky to get a mumbled "cool" after a week. The idea that someone important can just find your work while scrolling and actually talk to you about it that same night is a different world.

Totally get what you mean, @robin_chen87. A friend posted a photo series at like 2pm once, and a gallery owner from another state messaged her by dinner. Back in the day, that same work would've just sat in a physical portfolio in your closet forever. The speed now is just insane.

But seriously, does that speed actually help artists in the long run?
