Vent: My screen messed up in the middle of an art showcase
The colors went all crazy right in the middle of my demo. Now I know to test my setup twice before going live!

Three years ago my laptop died during a final project presentation. I always thought gear checks were a waste of time until that silent black screen stared back at me and the whole class. Now I plug in, turn on, and test every cable twice, even for a five minute talk. What was your worst tech fail moment?

That silent black screen moment sounds rough, but can you really stop every tech fail with all that checking? Stuff breaks when you least expect it, no matter how many cables you test. Why waste time on endless prep when a random glitch can ruin everything anyway? Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches because tech has a mind of its own.

My audio died once during a webinar with fifty attendees. In my experience, a quick sound check five minutes before going live helps a lot. I always test with headphones now to catch issues early. Your mileage may vary, but for me, that extra step cuts down on surprises.
