Crossed 30 countries as a nomad and it felt smaller than crossing 5

I hit country number 30 last month in a tiny cafe in Ljubljana, but the real shock was realizing that changing continents barely fazes me anymore compared to my first month in Chiang Mai. The milestone I actually felt was hitting 12 months on the road, since that's when I stopped planning every single detail and just started living day to day. Has anyone else found that the big number you chase ends up feeling hollow, while some random small moment becomes the one that sticks?

Matching that exactly. I spent 14 months in Southeast Asia and chased every border crossing like it mattered. But the moment that actually hit me was sitting on a broken curb in Vientiane eating a stale baguette, just watching a dog sleep. Nothing special, no big view, no life changing talk. That was when I realized I wasn't collecting places anymore, I was just living somewhere weird.
