Serious question, I compared two mobile hotspots in Mexico City and the result was clear

I was using a generic unlocked hotspot for a month and had constant drops during video calls. I switched to a local Telcel MiFi device with a proper data plan, about $25 for 30GB, and the connection is rock solid. The difference was the bands it supports and having a local carrier's full network access, not just roaming. Has anyone else found that buying local SIMs and gear is the only way to get reliable work done in certain countries?

Local carrier's full network access" is the key part people miss.

Used to think it was just hype, but that line about full network access really made it click for me.
