Went to a Home Depot class and it saved me $300 on flooring

I finally dragged myself to one of those free Saturday workshops at the Home Depot over off Route 9. They showed us how to install vinyl plank flooring step by step and I almost couldn't believe how simple it was. I had been quoted $600 by a handyman to do my 200 square foot living room. Did the whole thing myself in a weekend for about $200 in materials and a $30 utility knife. The trick was using a tapping block and not rushing the cuts around the door frames. Has anyone else taken one of those classes and saved a bunch?

Wait, you're telling me that handyman wanted $600 for a 200 square foot room?

Used to be the same way, honestly thought $600 for a small room like that was way too much. But then I had a guy come out to do my basement and realized how much the materials and the time to prep and clean up actually cost. It changed my mind pretty quick when I saw the itemized breakdown, the paint alone was almost $100 for decent stuff.
