inRant: A foreman told me my brick spacing was 'good enough for a garden wall'
Man, that hits home. My old boss used to say "good enough" is the enemy of "done right." I was wiring a light fixture once and thought the connections were fine, just a little messy. He made me redo the whole thing because he said even if it works now, that mess could cause trouble for the next guy down the line. It felt like a waste of time then, but now I can't leave a box without making it look clean.

inAppreciation post: A snapped cambium saver rope taught me a quick field fix

inMy fish tape snapped inside a conduit run yesterday
Yeah, that's the worst... but a 2-inch PVC with a sharp 90 is actually a code problem, not just a tape problem. You're supposed to use a sweep elbow for a pull that long, a regular 90 will always wreck your day. A better tape helps, but you're fighting the pipe itself.
