inRant: How I used to just throw everything in the trash without thinking
Got into it one day when Carol was out watering her petunias and I was trying to figure out why my tomatoes kept dying. She just casually said, "Maybe those cheap pots are poisoning them," and walked off. @veram99 that moment stung because I'd been ignoring her for months, turns out she was right about the drainage holes being too small. Not a huge fight or anything, just her being blunt and me finally listening for once.

inI gave up on my weekly spread for a month and something clicked
Tried bullet journaling once and spent three hours drawing a perfect calendar spread, then never opened the notebook again. Blank page wins every time.

inNoticed something weird about 'no added sugar' jam at the store last week
Is white grape juice concentrate really that different from regular sugar though? @parkerp80 has a good point about checking for syrup and concentrate, I do the same now after getting tricked by that "evaporated cane juice" in some organic granola bars.

inTook me 3 rewatches of The Wire to realize I was skipping the wrong scenes
Honestly, just pick ONE rewatch where you watch EVERYTHING no matter how boring it seems. The second time through a show is when you catch all the little details the writers planted. That coworker Steve sounds like a real one for calling you out, most people just let you stay wrong.

inI finally figured out why McDonald's fries go bad so fast
Totally agree, I've noticed the same thing. I live in a city with a bunch of McDonald's and the fries from the one near the mall are always crispy and good, but the one downtown they get all limp and soggy in like 5 minutes flat. It has to be how each store handles that sugar spray, like some guys are heavy handed with it. I wonder if the training on that step is just all over the place, or if it depends on who's working the fry station that day.
