Rant: Drafting setups look totally different up north

On a recent run to a Minnesota plant, I saw their whole drawing station. It used way more physical templates than my usual southern shops. Even the CAD shortcuts were not the same ones I know. This got me thinking about how local habits shape our work. Maybe we could swap some tips to smooth things out.

How does your shop handle training new people?

Honestly, "handle training" makes it sound more formal than it is. I just showed a new guy how to run the band saw by having him cut scrap while I worked nearby. Sometimes they just need to get their hands on something without too much talk first.
