The day a single log jam cost us 16 hours on the Willamette
We were clearing a new channel near Portland when the cutter head hit a submerged timber pile that was way bigger than the sonar showed. It took us until the next morning to cut through it with the backup saw and get the lines clear again. What's the biggest surprise you've ever pulled up that really stopped a job cold?

Wow, heard about a crew that dredged up an old car once.

Man, that sounds rough. We once hit what we thought was a big rock, but it turned out to be a solid chunk of old sidewalk someone just dumped in the river. Felt like a real bunch of geniuses trying to figure that one out for half a day. What did you do with all that timber once you got it loose?
