Tried automatic taper versus doing it by hand for a big ceiling job in Denver

I had this 2000 square foot basement ceiling to do last month and decided to finally rent an automatic taper. My buddy swears by them but I always thought it was more trouble than it's worth. After 400 feet of ceiling joints, I was done in half the time and my wrist wasn't screaming at me. Has anyone else switched over and found it worth the rental cost for certain jobs?

Nah, you're mixing up automatic taper with a banjo. Different tools entirely.
