Pro tip: always double-check the governor rope tension on a 1990s Dover
I spent a full day in a downtown Omaha office building chasing a weird intermittent overspeed fault. My partner kept saying it felt like a governor issue, but I was sure it was the main drive board. Turns out the governor rope had just enough slack to trip the switch on fast down runs, but not every time. Has anyone else seen this specific fault pattern on an older Dover?

Man, that's a classic. Was the slack bad enough that you could see it jump, or was it just a hair loose so the switch would only chatter on a really fast stop?

That slack was huge, you could see the chain jump a foot on a normal stop.
