From adoring my smart speaker to unplugging it on principle

I used to think the trade-off for convenience was worth it, chatting with my device daily. But after learning how these snippets build profiles sold to advertisers, I've started treating it like a guest who overstays their welcome.

Switched to a dumb Bluetooth speaker. Zero eavesdropping, same music. Felt liberating.
