My sister, a teacher, said her school's new 'engagement tracking' software flags kids who look away from their screens.

My cousin's school in Ohio uses a program that tracks eye movement. It sends a report home if a kid glances at the window for more than five seconds. They're treating normal human curiosity like it's a crime. How is a student supposed to process information if they can't even look away to think for a second? What's the actual goal here, perfect robots?

Patricia317 is right, that's messed up. Sounds like they want kids to stare like zombies at a screen all day. Can't even look out a window without getting flagged. My own attention span is terrible, I'd be getting reports sent home every hour. The goal can't be actual learning if they punish normal brain function. Just seems like control for the sake of control.
