Serious question, is Popeyes spicy chicken getting smaller or am I just unlucky?

I hit 8 pieces from Popeyes last Tuesday and I swear they were way smaller than normal. Like I counted them out because I was feeding my brother and me, and we both looked at each other like 'are these tenders or what?' lol. One side of me thinks maybe it's just a bad batch or the location near my job in Dallas is slipping. But the other side says maybe they're actually shrinking portions to save money and nobody's talking about it. Has anyone else noticed a drop in size on their spicy chicken recently? Or am I just hitting the wrong spots?

My coworker Marcus swore the same thing last week when he grabbed a 5 piece from the one off Mockingbird Lane, said the drumstick looked like it came off a pigeon. I ate there three days later and mine were fine though, so maybe bad luck.

Got a 6 piece from that same Mockingbird Lane location a couple weeks ago and my first piece was this sad little wing that barely had any meat on it. Felt like I was gnawing on a toothpick. Rest of the batch was normal sized though so maybe they just had some runts in the fryer that day.

Yeah you just gotta check the box before you leave the counter honestly. Anytime I get wings I open it up right there and look at each piece. If one looks like a baby wing I ask them to swap it out. They never give me attitude about it either because it's easier for them than dealing with a complaint later. The Mockingbird Lane spot tends to rush through orders during lunch rush so stuff like that slips through. Just pop the lid and eyeball it, takes five seconds and saves you the annoyance.
