Just realized my air fryer was making my chicken wings worse this whole time

I got one of those basket air fryers last year and used it for wings at least once a week, thinking it was the best thing ever. After six months, I tried baking a batch on a wire rack in my regular oven at 400 degrees for 45 minutes, flipping once. The skin got WAY crispier and the meat was juicier, not dried out like the air fryer always left it. I think the air fryer just blasts them too hard and fast. Has anyone else gone back to the oven for certain things and been shocked?

My air fryer wings always come out juicier than my oven ever did.

Honestly yeah, I read this whole thing about how air fryers circulate hot air way faster than ovens, so the moisture doesn't have time to escape before the skin crisps up. It's basically like a tiny convection oven on steroids. Keeps the inside tender while the outside gets that crunch. Totally makes sense why yours turn out better.

Ever try a toaster oven for that?
