Jackson's line about the mice offering to help is hilarious because it's probably true. I can picture them leaving little rodent-sized toolkits and a handwritten list of complaints about your shoddy patchwork. At some point they just start charging you for labor and materials. You'll find a tiny invoice for chewing through that drywall you messed up.
