Oh man, that's a tough but good thing to hear! What was it about the invoices that made them confusing? Was it the layout, the way you listed the charges, or something else? I'm always trying to make my own work stuff clearer for people.

Ever think a clear layout was enough, @the_jana? I did until feedback showed me it wasn't.

Totally get that. I had the same problem with my project summaries looking clean but still confusing people. Started adding tiny headers above each section, like "What We Did" and "What Comes Next", which @the_jana might find useful too. Turns out a clear layout needs clear signposts, not just nice boxes and lines. People skim so fast they miss the structure unless you label it loudly. Changed my approach completely after learning that lesson.
