Just lost $500 on a 'can't miss' freelance course that was all fluff

I saw an ad for this online course promising to 'unlock' high-paying clients in my field. It cost $500 and I figured it was an investment. The videos were just basic stuff I already knew, like how to make a portfolio (which I've had for years). The promised 'secret' client list was just a spreadsheet of public company emails. I feel pretty dumb for not checking reviews first, honestly. Has anyone else been burned by a course that didn't deliver anything new?

Man, that reminds me of a webinar I joined last year that was supposed to be about cold email scripts. The host spent 45 minutes just talking about his new car and how great his life was, and then the 'script' was literally just a one-line template. I was so mad I closed my laptop. It's crazy what people will sell.

A one-line template after 45 minutes about his car? That's just insulting. They really think people's time is that worthless. I'd have been furious too.

Those webinar scripts can be surprisingly bad. The real trick is learning how to actually talk to people, not just copy a line. It takes practice they never really teach.
