My new smart scale told me I was 15% body fat after I balanced my cat on it

I learned that gadget accuracy can be hilariously skewed by user error, so has anyone else gotten a truly wild reading from a fitness tracker or smart home device?

Oh man, my smart watch once congratulated me for an intense 45 minute cycling workout while I was just aggressively stirring a pot of chili! It logged my heart rate spiking from the steam heat and my frantic wrist motions. I felt so falsely accomplished that I almost didn't finish cooking dinner.

Reminds me of how @noah517's tracker mixed up stillness for sleep, proving these gadgets often guess instead of actually knowing us.

My buddy's sleep tracker kept saying he was getting deep REM sleep while he was actually wide awake watching TV. It mistook his total stillness for being asleep. He started a movie at 10 PM and the app gave him a perfect 100 sleep score by midnight. He said the data was so confidently wrong it was funny.
