My bargain trellis folded under the weight of my beans

I thought I saved money with that flimsy trellis from the discount store. It looked fine when I set it up for my pole beans. Yesterday, the whole thing bent and snapped right in the middle. Now my plants are tangled on the ground, and I have to buy a new one. What a waste of time and effort.

Ever thought of using old fencing wire?

Not sure it's always a disaster, @troya61. Old wire can be tricky, but isn't it worth a try if you're careful? I've fixed up fences with it before.

Seriously? That stuff is a total nightmare waiting to happen. Old wire is always brittle and packed with hidden rust that'll snap at the worst time. You'll spend more hours fixing breaks and fighting kinks than you'd ever save. It's honestly the most frustrating material you could possibly try to use.
