My entire seed starting rack collapsed at 3 AM last Tuesday

I built a cheap PVC frame for my grow lights and it gave out under the weight, dumping 72 seedlings onto my basement floor. The mess took me four hours to clean up and I lost almost all my early tomatoes. What's the sturdiest DIY light rack you've actually built that can hold real weight?

Honestly, this feels like a rule of life now. We all try to save a few bucks on the cheap version, and it always ends in disaster. I used zip ties for an outdoor plant shelf last year, and a whole side gave way after one rainstorm. My neighbor built a bookshelf from those skinny pressed wood boards, and it sagged in the middle within a month. It's like the universe demands we pay the price in time and frustration. I've learned to just buy the thicker metal conduit for frames now, even if it costs more up front.

Wait, you used zip ties for a plant shelf? @julia_lee, that's brave. I wouldn't trust those with a bag of chips.

The universe demanding we pay in frustration is basically my entire DIY career.
