Am I the only one who remembers having to physically go to the library to look up anything?
I spent hours there in 2005 for a school project, but now my kid just asks their Echo for facts while playing a game. Does anyone else feel like that shift made knowledge less... earned?

But what if easier access means we use knowledge more? I had to write a report on the pyramids back then, and most of my effort was just finding a book that had the facts. Now my nephew can ask a question while building a model of one, instantly see how the blocks fit, and actually get into the how and why. The work isn't in the finding anymore, it's in the thinking.

My 8th grade history project on the Roman aqueducts was 90% library time. Now my kid can watch a 3D model of one being built in real time and ask questions about the engineering.

Exactly, the work is in the thinking now. I spent a whole weekend just trying to find a picture of a trebuchet for a project. My daughter made a whole digital one last year that showed the force and weight. She spent her time figuring out why it worked, not just what it looked like. That's a way better use of her brain.
