Demonstrating glass techniques abroad got me mistaken for a street performer
I was working at a cultural exchange in Barcelona. A crowd gathered, thinking I was doing live sculpture. My piece ended up shaped like a flamenco dancer's skirt by accident.

Lmao that's the best kind of accident. My stuff always ends up looking like a blob that tried its best. Once I was just messing around and made a vase that looked exactly like a sad potato. No one asked to buy it, but a kid did try to take a bite. So you're already winning if they thought it was on purpose.

Ha! Totally get that. I once accidentally made a glass bowl that looked like a wave and everyone thought it was on purpose. Lean into it, those happy accidents are the best part.
