Vent: That old annealing oven cost me a week's work
Ngl, I miss the simplicity of manual kilns, but those things could be so unreliable. One batch cooled too fast and everything cracked. Honestly, it pushed me to invest in a better setup.

Yeah, that's rough. When I lost a week on a bug last month, I just broke the fix into smaller tasks. Got it done in a couple days.

Ceramic Arts Daily did a whole piece on how manual kilns caused more waste for most home studios. That slower cooling you miss is actually what makes them so tricky to control perfectly. A good digital controller on a new oven would have saved that batch, no question. Sometimes the old way just wasn't better, lol.
