Update: Noticing small wins before bed made me less grumpy in the morning
I used to go to sleep thinking about all the stuff I didn't get done. Then I read about focusing on positive moments. So for two weeks, I spent five minutes listing things that went okay, even tiny stuff. Now I wake up feeling more ready for the day and not as down.

Why do we overlook tiny wins that change our whole outlook?

You're spot on about tiny wins changing outlooks. My buddy Mark was feeling down after his job let him go. He forced himself to walk around the block each day, just a short walk. That tiny win made him feel he could do more, and soon he was applying for jobs with hope. @william_carter, your question made me realize he almost didn't notice that first walk. We overlook them because they're not flashy, but they BUILD momentum. It's a SHAME we don't value these small steps more.

Ever notice how fixing one tiny thing at home can domino into getting other stuff done? I mean, last month I finally replaced this loose doorknob that had been bugging me for ages. Took like ten minutes, but after that I felt pumped and ended up cleaning out the whole junk drawer. It's weird how crossing off a small, annoying task makes you feel like you can handle the next one.
