Back then, I brushed off the ending of that mystery film as clever

I used to love how everything tied up neatly in the finale. But on a rewatch, I realized a key clue was NEVER explained. It actually creates a HUGE gap in the logic. Now I see it as a flaw, not a feature. Funny how time gives you new eyes for old stories.

Forget which film it was, but checking fan forums usually uncovers some wild explanations people have for those gaps.

On the Blade Runner 2049 forums last week, fans argued for hours about Deckard's memories. Their ideas to fill story gaps are wild and creative. But why do we feel we must explain every missing piece? Isn't part of the fun letting some questions stay open? I get that fans want answers, but sometimes the gaps are there on purpose. What makes us ignore that and build whole new stories instead?

Is it really a big deal if a movie has a few unexplained bits? As lane.logan mentioned, those gaps might be there on purpose to let us think. Getting too caught up in explaining everything can ruin the movie's magic.
