Ha, the 'no more awkward explanations' bit hits home. My cat would yowl like a tiny opera singer whenever I was on a call. I started giving her a special treat right before I joined meetings, something really good like a bit of chicken. Now she just camps out by her bowl quietly, waiting for her payoff. It took a few weeks of being very steady with it, but it totally fixed the problem. Honestly, it's nicer than some of my human coworkers being quiet.

Used to doubt cat training until @robin_lee's lick mat idea proved me wrong.

Genius move with the chicken, @noah_perez. I did the same thing but with a little bit of fish paste on a lick mat. Works like a charm once they learn the routine, but you gotta be super consistent like you said.
