My failed digital detox taught me that online clutter is creative fuel
After attempting a digital detox for a few days, I returned to find my design ideas felt stale and out of touch. Scrolling through my feeds, I realized that the constant influx of images, debates, and trends was actually fueling my creative process. Now, I intentionally curate my online time to absorb diverse perspectives, which has improved my work's relevance and depth.

Instagram's visual noise always gives me a weirdly structured starting point. I treat my saved folder like a messy mood board now.

My saved folder just feels like digital hoarding lately.

Read this interview with a musician who said her best lyrics come from fragmented tweets she scrolls past. Totally tracks with the idea of online clutter as fuel. My own saved folder is a disaster zone of random screenshots and half-baked thoughts. But when I'm stuck, diving into that chaos sparks something. Heard a similar thing on a design podcast about 'productive overwhelm.' They argued that the noise isn't distracting, it's raw material.
