From inspiration to irritation: How staged photos changed my feed view

I used to like all those polished lifestyle posts on my social media apps. It felt good to see people doing cool things. But then my cousin told me she spends hours setting up her 'spontaneous' breakfast shots. Tbh, that made me see how fake it all is. Now I just scroll past those perfect pics because they feel forced. Honestly, I'd rather see someone's actual messy kitchen. Has anyone else had a wake-up call about curated content? How do you deal with it?

Wait, WHAT? Hours on one breakfast photo? That's nuts. I totally get why @troyh34 mutes those accounts now, it just feels so pointless.

Seriously, your cousin spends HOURS on breakfast pics? That's wild. I always assumed those were quick snaps. Now I can't unsee the setup in every polished post. It totally ruins the magic for me. I've been muting accounts that feel too perfect just to avoid the fake vibe.

Man, you're so right @troyh34. It's not just breakfast, it's EVERYTHING now. That perfect life they show is a full time job of staging and fixing photos. It makes my real coffee and toast look sad by comparison, and that's a messed up way to feel. We're all just watching someone else's manufactured reality instead of living our own.
