Crazy idea: Stop using weird words in your wine notes

I know most tasters love big words like 'bouquet' or 'terroir'. But I think that's just showing off. When I write notes, I use simple stuff like 'smells like cherries' or 'tastes a bit sour'. It helps my friends who are new to wine actually get it. Last week, I described a red as 'like dark fruit with a kick' and everyone nodded. Fancy terms just make people feel left out. Try it and see how much MORE fun tasting becomes.

@beth_bell's scoff made me try plain terms, and it works.

Wait, you really wrote "tastes a bit sour" in a note?

Actually, what's wrong with keeping it simple like that?
