inTIL a guy on the trail near Buena Vista talked me out of my 15 mile a day plan
Man, I feel that grind, chasing a number instead of just breathing up there.

Wow, nothing says handmade like a robot churning out your dog's portrait while you wait.

inQuestion about how a 70 year old at a Seattle gallery changed how I title my digital pieces
Used to shrug off titles too, figured the work should just speak for itself and a name was basically just a label for my own files. But after reading this I went back and looked at some of my older pieces with names like "scan_02" and yeah, I see what that guy meant, because a title primes you before your eyes even hit the image. Renaming stuff has actually made me notice things in my own work I had stopped seeing.

inRant: a foreman told me my daily logs were useless, so I switched to photos only
Honestly who is actually reading daily logs on a job site anyway. Photos make sense on paper but what happens when someone gets hurt and the lawyers come asking about conditions that day. A timestamped pic of rebar spacing does not say who was on site, what the weather was, or whether the crew had proper training. So yeah the foreman was right that nobody reads them, but that is not the same as them being useless.
