Pro tip: a professional illustrator tore apart my AI art and I actually changed how I work
Last month a digital artist with 15 years experience commented on my AI piece and pointed out that all the hands looked like melted claws. I didn't think it was a big deal because I was just generating for fun. But then she showed me how to fix the lighting and composition in Photoshop using layers, not just prompts. Now I spend about 20 minutes per image hand-editing the hands and shadows before I post anything. Has anyone else had a pro give them harsh feedback that actually improved your workflow?

The whole "pro illustrator tore apart my AI art" thing feels kinda dramatic, honestly. I mean you're generating stuff for fun and a random person on the internet gives you a bunch of notes and you actually change your whole workflow? That's a lot of power to give some stranger. Maybe their advice was good, maybe not. Hand editing each piece for 20 minutes sounds like turning a hobby into a side job. Not saying their tips weren't helpful, but it's worth asking if you're just chasing validation from people who don't get what you're doing anyway.

And you see this same thing happen in all sorts of hobbies, not just ai art. People get into something for fun and then suddenly they're reading forums and watching tutorials and turning a relaxing thing into a chore where they're chasing some outside standard. It's like we can't just enjoy a thing anymore without someone telling us we're doing it wrong.
