The comment that made me flip on AI art was from a blind artist

I used to be pretty against AI art, thought it was just stealing from real artists. But last week I read a post on here from someone who lost their sight in their 30s and uses AI to make images of things they remember or imagine. They said it was the first time in 10 years they felt like they could create something visual again. That hit me different, idk. I still think there's problems with how some models are trained, but saying all AI art is bad feels wrong now when it's giving people access they never had. Has anyone else had their stance change after hearing from someone who actually uses it for accessibility?

My neighbor’s been blind since birth and she got into AI art last year. She told me she finally understands what people mean when they say a sunset is beautiful. I never thought about it like that before. It really made me stop and think.

Like was it the colors, the way the light spreads, or something else entirely? I've talked to blind people who describe things through touch and sound, so I'm curious how an image generator translates a sunset into something she can finally "see." It's not like she has any visual reference point at all, so the AI must be creating a totally new kind of understanding for her. That's honestly way more interesting than all the drama about AI stealing jobs or whatever.
