Showerthought: My smart fridge tried to order more milk because it saw a picture of a cow

I was scrolling through my phone looking at farm photos from a trip last month. My fridge has that little camera inside so you can check what you have from your phone. I guess its AI saw a picture of a cow on my screen, which was near the fridge, and sent a notification asking if I wanted to add milk to the shopping list. It was so random and specific, I just stared at it for a minute. It made me think about how these systems are trying to connect dots in ways we don't even expect, but they still miss the context completely. Like, no, fridge, I don't need milk because I looked at a photo. Has anyone else had their home AI make a really wild guess based on something it saw or heard?

My Alexa tried to order cat food after hearing a meow on TV.

Mine just plays random music, it's so weird.

Right? These things have a mind of their own. My smart speaker once started playing polka music at 3am for no reason, scared me half to death. It's like what @gavina73 said, they just hear some random noise and go off the rails. I swear mine listens to conversations and then tries to play songs based on a single word it caught. Makes you wonder what they're really doing with all that audio.
