Actually, those wrong turns were half the fun. My best memories from travel always come from finding hidden spots no algorithm would show me. The app tells you the efficient route, but it can't plan those happy accidents.

Stumble less and you might miss the spark algorithms can't provide.

But what if you just end up lost and annoyed? @young.mia has a point, sometimes the efficient route is the one that lets you actually enjoy the place.
