My aunt's tofu cubes changed how I season everything
Last month my aunt visited and insisted on making her own spice blend in my kitchen. She took my basic paprika and garlic powder and added a pinch of cinnamon and a tiny bit of cocoa powder. She tossed those tofu cubes in oil and the air fryer at 380 for 12 minutes. I honestly thought she was nuts but the smell was unbelievable. That one batch made me toss EVERYTHING with that mix, even frozen fries last Tuesday. Has anyone else had a family member show up and totally rewrite your seasoning game?
My mom did almost the same thing to me last Thanksgiving. She grabbed my smoked paprika and threw in some ground ginger and a spoon of maple syrup right into the dry rub. I stood there like what are you doing to my turkey. But that bird came out so good my brother asked for the recipe twice. Now I keep a little jar of that mix next to the stove. Your aunt sounds like she knows what she is doing.
